Description
- Tiffany Studios
- "Lotus" Table Lamp
- shade stamped TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK
base stamped TIFFANY STUDIOS/NEW YORK/7346 - leaded glass and patinated bronze
Provenance
John and Rita Goodman, Malibu, CA
Condition
Very good overall condition. The shade with approximately 30 cracks to the glass scattered throughout. With surface soiling to the shade, particularly in the recessed areas around the lead lines. There are a few small and minor areas of separation (or stress fractures) to the lower rim of the shade that would benefit from being stabilized. The base with an attractive rich brown patina with very light rubbing to the areas of high relief as expected from age and gentle use. The switch appears to be original. The sockets have been replaced and are presently covered with cardboard socket covers. The period finial is a fine sculptural example with a deep rich brown patina that conforms to the base. A fine example of this attractive model, with a particularly subtle gradation to the shade with rich vibrant greens.
