Catalogue Note
"Cosmopolitan Greetings" was a jazz opera created as a collaborative work between the poet Allen Ginsberg, composers George Gruntz and Rolf Liebermann, and Robert Wilson, the director, designer and artist. The set design, executed in trademark minimalism by Wilson, set forth in 12 unique movements narrating the life of famed Jazz musician Bessie Smith.
