woven with Chinese figures resting over tea, seated outside small home with bell upon the roof, the foreground with potted exotic tree within ceramic container, exotic trees behind; Lacking border, with yellow and blue selvedge, mounted within later carved gilt frame

Appears faided. Some repairs and areas of wear, commensurate with weave. With later outer border.

Derived from the series known as' La deuxieme tenture chinoise' first woven at Beauvais in 1743 from sketches by Boucher, and later adapted for tapestry weaving at Aubusson.
