Description

  • 38cm. high handle down.
16-cm square gilt brass dial with cherub spandrels, engraved pewter chapter ring with Roman numerals and pierced engraved hands, fusee and chain movement with verge escapement, knopped and ringed pillars, backplate with engraved border and signed within a wreath Christoff Schoener fecit, pull wind quarter repeating on two bells, moulded tortoiseshell veneered case with gilt brass foliate pierced basket top surmounted by a shaped handle, glass panels to all sides, moulded plinth raised on gilt bun feet

Condition

chapter ring original but tarnished, hands and dial fine, movement in original good condition but could benefit from a clean, in working order, case in original dirty condition with some of the tortoiseshell starting to get loose, top plank of the case restored probably because the holes for the screws of the basket were worn out, movement mounted with a mask from the back, together with a winder and doorkey
