Catalogue Note

The complete cast of Nessus abducting Deianeira has depicted the precise moment that the centaur Nessus abducts Deianeira and the instant immediately before his dead. It is a scene of great pathos and drama that is accentuated by Deianeira's posture depicted in torsion, stabilising herself with one foot and her head thrown back in desperation.
