An attractive French Directoire ormolu marble enamelled mantel clock late 18th Century

12-cm enamel chapter ring with Roman numerals and blue border with gilt stars, pierced gilt hands, flat bottomed countwheel bell striking movement with anchor escapement and silk suspended sunburst pendulum, surmounted by an ormolu palmette with trailing leaves, seated putti flanking a blue enamel plaque signed Roy à Paris, mounted on two arched ormolu supports mounted with blue enamel with gilt stars, on fluted columns, rectangular white marble base with a classical relief raised on toupee feet  

chapter ring in good condition with one dirty patch, hands fine, movement in working order and in good condition, case and enamel in good condition, ormolu appears to be intact with only minor rubbing to the top of the columns, the upper part of the case tilting backwards a little, together with a pendulum and winder
