  • 307cm. high including atlas
32-cm engraved chapter ring bearing the signature Pieter Aarts Amsteldam, fine hands and full calendar, ships automaton below connected to the anchor movement, half hour Dutch striking on alternating bells, 20-cm barrel musical mechanism playing one of six melodies with 29 hammers on 15 bells, burr walnut veneered case with fine foliate frets to the hood surmounted by an Atlas and two angels, shaped door with carved border and marquetry inlay, bombed base raised on claw feet

Condition

dial slightly tarnished, hands of good quality, ships automaton a little rubbed and needs adjusting, movement able to function but in need of good cleaning, musical mechnism needs to be cleaned, case of good quality a little pale but with nicely worked details such as the carving to the hood and door, left side of the base with shriking crack, right hind foot loose, together with a pendulum, winder, 3 weights and 3 statuettes
