Catalogue Note
Ulric was the first Saint canonized by a Pope, which led to the formal process which continues today. He is known as the patron Saint of pregnant women because those who drank from his chalice had easy deliveries. The fish in his hand represents the story describing Ulric rewarding a messenger with a goose leg, which turned into a fish on Friday morning.
