A fine and rare mahogany two-day marine chronometer, Joseph Thaddeux Winnerl, Paris

2¾-inch silvered dial with subsidiary seconds dial and state-of-wind indicator, blued steel Breguet hands, signed Winerl, No.530, Depot De La Marine, fusee movement with maintaining power, Earnshaw spring detent escapement with Hartnup-type bevelled bi-metallic balance, blued helical spring, the brass bowl gimballed in a mahogany box with brass handles, the top with inspection slide revealing a circular window, signed and numbered on an ivory plaque

Dial has a few minor marks and scratches. Movement running well at time of cataloguing but looks as though it would benfit from a clean. Case in generally good original condition with old minor marks and scuffs throughout. With winder and case key.
