Description

including a pair of armchairs, the rail backs each with twin oval tablets inlaid with stringing, the stuffed seats on turned legs, re-railed and with restorations

Condition

Good overall restored condition. Re-railing as per catalogue description. Re-finished. Old marks, scratches and wear consistent with age. Some characteristic worming to the underframes. chair 1 front legs cracked and repaired at their tops. Re-veneered on the backrail chair 2 - small patch flanking one back leg. Very minor worm showing through on backrail chair 3 - Front left hand leg has been partially re-tipped chair 4 - Both front legs chipped. One patched. chair 5 - One front leg patched. Backrail re-veneered chair 6 - One front leg chipped and patched chair 7 - Small patch on the rear left hand upright. Also on the ring-turning on one front leg chair 8 - One front leg has been cracked and restored and their are losses around the top of this leg. The other leg has some bruising and loss to carving. chair 9 - One rear leg is cracked at the tip One front leg is patched at the tip and the rear seat rail has been re-veneered chair 10 - the tip of one leg patched. Small patch on the rear seatrail. Armchair 1 - both front legs have been cracked and repaired. The rear seatrail has been reveneered.
