comprising six armchairs and eight standard chairs (14)
Provenance
Tyninghame House, Haddington, East Lothian
Condition
Fair overall condition. The painted decoration and gilding is very worn and dirty. There are several chips to the gesso. Most of the chairs are in solid condition but some of the standard chairs have slightly loose joints. Some of the seat rails have woodworm holes with many chairs have sympathetically replaced seat rails. It should be noted that four of the standard chairs are slightly smaller than the others.

Larger standard chairs - 102cm. high, 54cm. wide, 54cm. deep; seat height - 40cm.
Smaller standard chairs - 96cm. high, 52cm. wide, 55cm. deep, Seat height - 39cm.
