the hinged cover inset with a miniature model of H.M.S. Victory under her jury-rig after the battle of Trafalgar, with shot-away masts and riddled sails, set in a moulded and painted seascape within oval glazed mount, with inscription to the reverse reading The Oak of this Box is part of a wounded Plank, severed from the Starboard Gunnel of the Victory, by a 36lb Shot in the glorious Battle of Trafalgar 21^{t. October 1805}
