Description

  • approximately 10ft. by 9ft. 4in. (3.05 by 2.84m.)

Condition

Pile good, dense 1/4 inch overall with clipped outlines. Unusual color change at lower end where the blue field becomes speckled with pale yellow and then becomes straw colored. Original selvages and lower end finish. Upper end with red cotton cloth sewn over, possibly suggesting that this carpet spent time in Tibet where this finishing was customary. Scattered spot stains---will enhance with cleaning. Lustrous wool, flexible handle, good overall condition.
