Description
the tall cabinet with a molded edge top panel, above a pair of doors comprising floating panels set within raised rectangular frames, flanking a removable central stile, fitted with a three-part baitong lockplate, pin and 'fish' pull handles, the legs of square section with beaded edges, bordering aprons carved with foliate scrolls, the interior with three shelves, one with a pair of drawers fitted with pull handles, the back panel of the cabinet also huanghuali, the hat chest echoing the cabinet's construction without the apron and legs (4)
Condition
One front leg broken at apron and one rear leg cracked. There is a chip on the front door. There is some staining to the bottom left of the hat chest, as can be seen in the illustration. The back of the cabinet is also of huanghuali wood. There is a gap between the left door panel and the door frame due to shinkage. There is also a chip at the bottom of the central post. The shelves in the cabinet have been replaced. The top panel of the drawer in the cabinet has dropped.
