Description
the finely carved figure dressed in loose-fitted robes, with inlaid semi-precious stones, holding a scroll in his left hand and leaning on a low table with an incense burner, with a monkey holding a peach on his right leg, on a rockwork base, signed to the reverse Zi Xiu, 7.6cm, 3in, together with a creamy-beige soapstone figure of a Luohan, 18th century, holding a bowl and leaning on a dog

Condition
Apart from restoration to head, which appears to have been a clean break, and to the nose, left eye, and scroll, a 2mm chip to the rear of the table, and minor surface scratches to the figure with the monkey; a natural inclusion to the rear of the head, restoration to the upper fold of the left sleeve, a tiny chip to the thumb of the hand holding the bowl and to the lower fold of the inlaid garment, and light surface scratches, these figures are in good condition.
