Description
each central swelling section brightly decorated with bat and lotus strapwork between ruyi and lotus lappet bands, the high ribbed spreading foot and tall ribbed trumpet neck with pendant and stiff leaf bands reserved on a turquoise ground, the interior of the neck with a lotus strapwork band
Provenance
From a private European collection acquired in the 1980's.
Condition
The pair of gu are in good overall condition with the exception of some pitting and loss to the enamels at upper central section and neck of one, similar loss and restoration to the enamels of the central section of the other and to a 2.5cm. wide section of the footring, a small section of enamel loss to the inside of the rim, both bases missing, some characteristic enamel shrinkage and pitting to both and light scratches and rubbing to the gilded areas of both.
