the black lacquer of oval section with barbed sides, divided into three removable tiers supported on a low foot of conforming shape, each tier inlaid in mother-of -pearl with four quatrefoil lobed panels enclosing vignettes with figures, two panels with small banners containing writing, all reserved on a 'basket-weave' diaper ground, the top of the flat cover of conforming shape decorated with a scene of a general on horseback and his soldiers, the sides similarly decorated with panels, the base inscribed in red paint with the character he

Condition

The overall condition is good with some flaking to the lacquer and a little loss of the mother-of-pearl on top and sides. There is a 2 cm dent and a little loss to the lacquer on one of the sides of one of the tiers.
