Description

naturalistically carved as a large veined lotus leaf enveloped around the flared sides with leaves and a magnolia flower rising from stalks, a large butterfly perching on the tips of the magnolia petals and further stalks rising from the base to the rim forming the handle, the horn of rich honey tone 

Provenance

Scandanavian Collection, acquired in the early 20th Century.

Condition

This finely carved cup is in very good overall condition with the exception of a 2mm wide nick to the bottom edge of the leaf at the foot, a 2mm., diam., area of loss to the head of one flower and some very minor nibbles to the rim and extremities.
