Description

finely carved in typical posture leaning on an empty wine jar and holding a cup to his mouth, the translucent resin of warm reddish-brown tone 

Provenance

Acquired in Paris, 1968.

Condition

With the exception of a 2.2cm hairline crack to the stone from under the hand running diagonally down to the base, a 2cm hairline crack to his left shoulder, a three-point hairline crack to the base, the longest measuring approximately 2.5cm and ending with a 1cm long c-shaped hairline crack with associated chips and a further 2cm hairline crack, a 0.5cm oval internal chip to the centre of the base, minute nibbles to the edges of the carving and light overall scratches to the surface, this piece is in very good condition.
