Condition

A decorative vase in good overall condition. Minor wear to the enamelled design, the majority intentional to create the illusion of an underwater scene. The underside is slightly scratched, this is consistent with age and material. The green is slightly brighter compared to the catalogue illustration. This vase with its intriguing and remarkable design is ready for display.

Catalogue Note

The different decorations and techniques result in 'a three dimensional aquatic scene of startling realism' (see Daum, op. cit. p. 97).
