writing during the Third Anglo-Dutch War "upon advice newly received touching the present Strength of the Enemy's Men of Warr upon the Coast of Spain", with orders that Rooth's ship, HMS Swiftsure, is to command a convoy to accompany the pilchard fleet from Plymouth to Cadiz, 2 pages, folio, Whitehall, 24 December 1673, docketed, framed and glazed, some sun damage and soiling, fold-tears repaired
