Description

  • Five Glass Vessels and a Faience Dish
  • Heights 2 1/2 to 7 in., diameter of dish 5 1/16 in. 6.35 to 17.8 cm, 12.8 cm
comprising a cobalt blue core-formed amphorisk with opaque yellow feather pattern, an amber glass bottle with domed body, an aquamarine twin-handled sprinkler jar with pear-shaped body, a pale olive green jug with ribbed pear-shaped body and aquamarine handle and collars, a pale aubergine jug with mold-blown herringbone pattern on the body, and a white faience dish carved and glazed in brown with a wreath of rosettes on the rim and a four-armed foliate motif in the tondo, and with traces of gilding.

Acquired in Tel Aviv in 1970

Condition

The first cracked, chipped, and repaired; one handle detached. The second and third very good and intact. The ribbed pear-shaped jug with small hole in one side and some cracking. The mold-blown jug good and intact. The faience bowl good but with superficial chipping on the edge of the rim. The amphorisk with detached and fragmentary handles, possibly in part from other vessels.
