Description

  • A Marble Portrait Bust of a Man
  • Height 17 1/2 in. 44.5 cm.
from an over life-size statue, turned slightly to his right, his mature face with furrowed brow, the hair falling over the forehead in two rows of crescentic locks, and wearing a cloak draped over his left shoulder and lifted over the head.

Condition

Good overall, bottom of proper left side of veil broken and repaired, in addition to damaged nose and large chips on top and on proper left side of veil note slight abrasions to facial features, entire surface is slightly worn and quite dirty, top and back of head roughly carved, there are two vertical veins in stone visible across face, each with dirty interstices.
