Second edition, 6 volumes bound in 3, comprising: volumes 1-4 of text bound in 2, folio (456 x 315mm.), and volumes 3-4 (only) of plates bound in one, folio (500 x 345mm.), each title with engraved vignette, 106 numbered engraved plates on 104 sheets (50 + 54), text: contemporary calf-backed marbled boards, flat spines, plates: contemporary half calf over marbled boards, flat spine, without plate volumes 1-2, text: some tears without loss of text, a little marginal worming in volumes 3-4 (not affecting text), plates: one plate slightly creased (IV no.4), a few plates slightly frayed at edges (not affecting engraved area), bindings slightly worn
