Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly softer in the original, with the white tending more towards ivory. Condition: This work is in very good condition. On close examination there are five brown media accretions scattered in the top right quadrant. Faint horizontal stretcher marks are visible running across the upper centre, lower centre and lower edge of the composition. There are a few light isolated rub marks to the lower edge and a short vertical rub mark in the lower right quadrant beneath the black vertical stroke. There is some very light surface dirt to the lower right extreme corner tip and in a few places to the extreme edges. No restoration is apparent under ultra-violet light.
