Catalogue Note
Brothers Sidney and Abraham Waintrob were a team of collaborative photographers who specialized in using European and American artists as their subjects. Their career spanned more than 50 years, and throughout this time they amassed a highly personal collection of modern and contemporary art. Lots 146, 147, 148 and 151 are also from this collection and reflect the affinity the brothers had to these Spanish artists.
