Condition

This sculpture is in very good condition overall. As is typical of the artist's wood progressions, the wood units are comprised of individual smaller wood sections, in this case 1 inch thick, that are adhered together. On the left two larger wood units, there are some joins that are more visible than others, some on the reverse side that is not visible when hung, and two on the unit second from left which have opened slightly on the front face, located 3 ¼ and 6 ¾ inches from the left end. On the underside of some of the wood units (seen only from below), there are some intermittent scuffs and some accretions, primarily located on the first left unit (8 in. in and 13 ¼ - 14 ¾ inches in from the left end) and on the second left unit (2-9 inches from its left edge). The small first wood unit on the right has been reattached with a small sliver filled and color matched near the edge that meets the metal. On the aluminum section, there are some soft traces of finger prints from handling overall. On the top facing (seen only from above), there is the following to note with all measurements generating from the right end: a scratch extending the depth of the surface which is located 6 ¼ inches in, a spot of loss 8 to 8 1/8 inches in, and some scattered black drops 31 to 31 ¼ inches. On the front facing, there are some black spots at the edge, located 29 3/8 and 30 ¾ inches from the left. On the underside edge of the aluminum, there is a soft dent and scratch, located 13 ¾ inches from the right end.
