Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly brighter in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is minor wear and discolouration in places along the top edge. There is a faint rub mark to the right edge,10 cm. beneath the upper right corner tip, and one parallel to the centre of the left edge. There is a light stretcher mark running parallel to the top edge. Upon close inspection there are five minute fly spots to the centre of the cross, and there is a tiny speck of paint loss approximately 35 cm. beneath this. Examination under ultra-violet light reveals a thin horizontal line of artist's retouching to the centre of the left arm of the cross.
