Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly softer and cooler, with the blood red around the central image tending more to brown in the original. The catalogue illustration fails to fully convey the rich surface texture of the collaged elements apparent in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. There is light undulation to the sheet which is hinged to the backing mount at intervals along all four edges as well as in the top two corners. There are handling creases to the centre of the right edge and in places along the top edge, which would appear to be original to the work's execution. There are small areas of skinning to the centre of the top and bottom extreme edges, which are original to the artist's working process. There is some cracking and small losses to some of the thicker areas of media.
