Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is softer in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. On close inspection, some of the jar lids display patches of oxidisation in a few instances, this is visible in the catalogue illustration. In two of the jars, this corrosion has penetrated through the jar lid, creating a hole.

Catalogue Note

"The deliberate drawing together of these different types of container, each loaded with its particular baggage of associations, begins to render any single, simple interpretation of the motif insecure. Rather than illustrating a particular point about modernity, the work seems to invite further reflection about how we order our experience of the present and how that fits with our assumptions about the past."
