Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is warmer in the original, with the paper tone tending more towards cream. The illustration fails to convey the texture of the collaged area apparent in the original. Condition: This work is in good condition. It is hinged to the backing board in several places on the reverse and there are artist's pinholes to the top two corners. There is wear to all four corner tips and in places along all four extreme edges. There are several light creases in places along the edges and elsewhere to the sheet, including a flattened horizontal crease (approximately 15 cm. long) to the top left edge, and a lifting crease (approximately 8 cm. long) to the left side of the top edge (visible in the catalogue illustration). There is a tiny pinhead-sized indentation to the right of the top of the inner collage. There are pale spots of foxing and slight discolouration in places throughout the composition.
