Eugène Galien-Laloue s'est spécialisé dans les vues de Paris qu'il a peint tout du long de sa vie. Il est aujourd'hui un témoin des grands changements qui eurent lieu dans le Paris du XIXe siècle, tels que la création du métro dont les travaux débutent en 1898, et les transformations de la ville orchestrées par le Baron Haussmann entre 1852 et 1870.

Eugène Galien-Laloue specialised in views of Paris, which he painted throughout his life. Today, he stands as a witness of the great changes that took place in Paris during the 19^th century, such as the creation of the Métro, the works for which began in 1898, and the transformations of the city orchestrated by Baron Haussmann, between 1852 and 1870.
