Condition

Cecil Beaton: Executed on brown wove paper. There is some light staining and there are a couple of foxing marks. There is creasing evident to the paper in the centre of the right edge and to the top left hand corner. There is a minor tear to the bottom section of the left hand edge.Otherwise the work is in fairly good condition. Framed behind glass in a simple frame with a blue mount and unexamined out of the frame. Augustus John: Executed in red chalk on very fine paper. The paper is creased and crumpled throughout. There is an upright oval section of the work 5cm in height by the figure's right leg which has been cut out. The remaining section of leg is depicted on paper behind the original sheet. There is some staining to the paper and a foxing mark to the top left hand corner. Held behind glass in a simple wooden frame with a light green mount. Unexamined out of the frame.
