Condition
Canvas is lined. SURFACE: surface has been somewhat compressed from relining, although retention of colors, pigment and details is very good overall; there is some thinness in a couple of spots (canvas weave shows on the two pears on the dish);craquelure throughout (stable and flattened from relining) UNDER ULTRA VIOLET: looks as though the upper and lower edges of the tacking edge were moved at some point in order to expand the dimensions of the painting-there are two sets of horizontal lines of inpainting going across the entirety of the painting--along upper and lower edges--each set is composed of two parallel lines, about an inch apart, with dark round spots between them (exactly like a tacking edge); other than that--two small spots of inpaint at lower left (in background) and two small spots at upper right (also in background)
