Condition
The canvas is not lined. SURFACE: In fairly good condition. The varnish has yellowed. Canvas has separated from the stretcher along the left edge - separation is visible. Craquelure throughout the image, visible in the sky. More finely patterned craquelure in the foliage and grass at lower left. Two small losses at center of canvas associated with craquelure. Four small dents to the surface with associated pigment loss: two in the water at lower right, one in the reeds at bottom center, one in the sky near the edge at upper right. Some pigment separation visible in lower left corner. UNDER UV: No apparent inpainting
