This painting has recently been restored. The canvas is un-lined but there are four small reinforcements on the reverse, two on the left side in the sky addressing some paint losses. Some additional abrasion in the sky on the left side has also been restored. There is a line of retouches visible under ultraviolet light in the lowest clouds in the sky, immediately to the left of the mast of the largest boat, and another retouch in the upper right. Despite some other fluorescent spots here and there in the lower left, the painting is in otherwise very good condition. Although the cracking to the paint layer is slightly visible, it is not unstable and no further restoration is recommended. This condition report was kindly provided by Simon Parkes.
