Provenance

According to the vendor, this nineteenth century shield was collected on Tintinallogy Station in the 1940s...'Old Tintinallogy Station was the original homestead of the Tintinallogy run. Tintinallogy is on the east bank of the Darling River between Menindie and Wilcannia. The station was amongst the first official runs on the central Darling River, and also the eastern side of the Darling. The station being established by Edmund Morey in 1851' (personal correspondence)

Condition

The shield has no visible repairs or restorations. It has old damage to the edges consistent with its use, and a number of old bora holes and hairline fractures in the reverse
