Description
- Tiffany Studios
- "Dogwood" chandelier
- leaded glass and patinated bronze
Provenance
Sotheby's New York, February 16, 1983, lot 124
Condition
Good overall condition. There are approximately 40-45 cracked tiles scattered throughout the shade. The shade appears to have extensive areas of re-leading notably around the floral clusters which would suggest replacements to the glass in those areas. As expected there has also been retouching to the green and brown patina of the leading throughout the shade. The hardware, beaded borders and decorative orbs appear to be replaced. The beaded border to the lower rim of the shade is partially detached at twelve solder points and would benefit from resecuring. Two of the pendent orbs are lacking. The shade has an overall rich and pleasing deep blue palette.
