Provenance
Ces fauteuils proviennent d'une suite de quatre, dessinée par le peintre Lucien Levy-Dhurmer et réalisée par Edouard Collet pour le grand salon de l'hôtel particulier de l'industriel Auguste Rateau, 10 bis avenue Elysée Reclus au Champ de Mars à Paris. Plusieurs pièces de ce mobilier furent dispersées entre 1968 et 1991 :
La salle-à-manger dite "aux glycines" a été acquise par le Metropolitan Museum de New York, en 1966 ; le canapé fait partie des collections du Musée d'Orsay à Paris depuis 1991. Le bureau et la bibliothèque ont été présentés en vente à Paris, respectivement le 6 avril 1991 et le 18 novembre 1975
These two armchairs originally came from a serie of four, designed by the painter Lucien Levy-Dhurmer and executed by Edouard Collet for the Grand living-room of the industrial, Auguste Rateau's house, 10 bis, avenue Elysée Reclus, Paris. Several pieces of this collection were dispersed from 1966 to 1991:
The 'Wisteria' dining room was purchased by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, in 1966, the sofa is now owned by the Musée d'Orsay. The desk and the bookcase were sold at auction in France, respectively on April 6th 1991, and November 18th 1975.
