Catalogue Note

Reclining Warrior (LH358b) appears to be a version of Maquette for Warrior without Shield (LH358) in which the right arm has been removed. Reclining Warrior is sometimes presented upright as here and the position of the signature on the figure's right leg would suggest that this may have been the original intention although it is reproduced in its reclining form in Complete Sculpture 1949 - 54.
