Condition

The work is on wove paper which has been laid down onto card. Masking tape has been adhered to the verso along each edge and the masking tape has been folded on to the verso along the left edge. The sheet is deckled along the lower edge. The surface of the sheet appears to be in good overall condition. Held under glass in a simple wooden frame. Catalogue Note

Winifred Nicholson began making regular painting trips to Greece about 1960. She travelled widely and found much inspiration for her painting, Minoan Goddess is based on figures from the Minoan civilization in Crete, and is dated circa 1960-64.
