Condition

The canvasboard is sound. There are some minor frame abrasions along the edges and the surface is dirty with some scattered spots of staining otherwise in good overall condition. Under ultraviolet light, there are some old spots of retouching to the frame abrasions along the upper edge.

Catalogue Note

Nevinson kept a caravan on land owned by the first owner of the present work, the pianist William Murdoch, at Holmbury St Mary in Surrey where Winter Landscape may have been painted.
