Condition

The board appears to be in good overall condition. The paint surface is intentionally thick and uneven. There is some cracking in the paint surface although this appears to be inherent to the work. Examination under ultra-violet light reveals scattered areas of fluorescence, some of which appears to be small retouchings and some of which seems to be due to the pigments used. Held behind glass in a painted rectilinear frame. Please telephone the department on 020 7293 5381 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
