Condition

Each plaque is set on a steel plate and all edges when examined out of frames show minor chips, dirt and traces of gilding consistent with former framing; each plaque of the highest quality and with the usual traces of dirt in places; the figure facing right has a very small restoration immediately left of his hat; the other with a very small restoration to the center of his scythe; the frames are 19th century and made of carved giltwood with the usual minor chips, nicks and restorations; the pair of micromosaic plaques is one of the finest examples of Roman micromosaic work.
