painted in Limoges style with Venus in a chariot drawn by doves, Cupid in attendance, surrounded by the signs of the Zodiac in gold on black ground, the sides with plaques of Leda and the Swan and Hercules and Omphale, the font and back set with carved ivory panels of figures in niches surrounded by foliate, Renaissance-style pilasters at the angles

damage to upper left corner and center bottom of side enamel panel with Hercules and Omphale, small restoration at top of same panel, small loss to upper left of back Zodiac enamel panel, otherwise good condition
