Acquired by the family of the mother-in-law of the present owner in Berlin in the 1920s

Condition

Original canvas. There are scattered flecks of retouching visible under ultraviolet light, notably to the snow at the left side. Apart from some light scattered surface dirt, notably to the lower left quadrant, this work is in very good condition, with rich colours and a strong surface. Held in a decorative, muted gold-painted moulded plaster and wood frame.
