Condition
The canvas has been re-lined. There are no signs of retouching visible under ultraviolet light. Apart from a few flecks of varnish loss at the upper centre, a spot of craquelure to the lower left corner, one small stable tear above the hat of the right-hand figure and a minor repaired tear to the upper centre, and two pinhead-sized flecks of paint loss at the upper right, this work is in very good condition, with fresh, rich colours, and ready to hang. Held in a decorative, gold-painted moulded plaster and wood frame.
