Description

  • height 4 ft. 1 in.; width 36 in.
  • 124.9 cm; 91.4 cm
the upright rectangular beveled mirror plate within a narrow molded frame carved with strap-work, flower heads and foliage, surmounted by a flat cornice similarly decorated with a shaped pediment with scrolled corners flanking arched gadrooning and centered by a female mask below over scrolled leafy tendrils, the shaped apron similarly carved with strap work with ruffled and foliate edges centered by a scallop shell and two brass candle arms, all on a punched ground.  Gilding restored.

Condition

Retaining much of the original gilt gesso decoration with small areas of over-gilding and repairs to the joints. Original mirror with old imperfections, candlearms associated.
