the rectangular top with a slant front enclosing a fitted interior with small drawers and compartments above a projecting serpentine case containing three drawers within a molding and supported on cabriole bracket feet. Distressed.

Condition

Filled and unfilled worm to the top. WIth old water marks, surface abrasions, discoloration and wear to the top. The fall front with similar level of distress, as well as being off its closing axis. The sliding secret compartment in side the fitted area is jammed and would need to be loosened for it to close. The inside drawers missing handles, and the drawer of the secret compartment with a nail for a handle. Poor restorations to the sides of the bureau above the long drawers, with later wooden replacements and significant traces of glue. The upper long drawers missing the right handle, and the bottom drawer missing both handles. Significan wear and losses due to old worm damage to the molding on the sides and front apron. The front right foot appears loose and off center. WIth further general old marks, chips and scratches consistent with age.
