Description
- height 31 1/2 in.; width 71 1/2 in.; depth 36 1/4 in.
- 80 cm; 181.4 cm; 92 cm
of serpentine form, fitted with a brown leather writing surface within a cross banded border and molded ormolu edge marked at the corners with clasps cast with cabochons, the frieze with three drawers and veneered all around with floral marquetry, raised on cabriole legs with pierced foliate, cabochon and foliate scrolled chutes and sabots. Some mounts of later date.

Condition
Stamped once under the apron of the back left side. Marks, dents, grooves, old surface scratches and abrasions to the leather writing surface. Rubbing to the ormolu border, with some significant traces of verdigris and deep oxidation in isolated areas. Traces of polish along the cabochon corner mounts. Old restorations which have darkened in color, giving the impression of stain marks especially along the decorated back apron and kingwood banding. Other fillings and minor restorations, particularly to the sides. Rubbing to some of the mounts in areas. Minor lifting to the veneers, in otherwise good condition.
